A career as a floorcovering installer is one that is physical, satisfying, and lucrative.

Working Conditions:

  • Year round work – not seasonal

  • Indoor work

  • Renovation construction

  • Journeyman wages range between $35 and $50 per hour

  • Top wage earners can make in excess of $100,000 per year


Duties of the Floorcovering Installer:


  • Inspect and prepare subfloors

  • Learn various installation techniques

  • Measure, cut, seam and install a variety of floorcovering materials:

    • Carpet

    • Sheet vinyl

    • Vinyl composite tile

    • Hardwood and laminate flooring
